Fresh off the back of CUOS’ production of Carmen, I’m delighted to announce that I will be reprising the role of Don José with Rogue Opera for three dates in June, in Bournemouth and London. It’s particularly exciting to work with a new group on a role that is so fresh, and I am looking forward to the nuances and shades of character that this production will bring to Don José.
I have also got back from a week-long tour as a guest of Eton College Chapel Choir, culminating with two concerts of Bernstein’s Chichester Psalms as soloist, conducted by Leonard Slatkin with the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra, also broadcast on HK Radio. Particularly impressive was the young choir’s professionalism and ability to sing this work, which is challenging even for the more senior choir.
